About Heylerts

I'm a software engineer with over 15 years of experience building web applications. I've spent most of my career working across the full stack — from backend systems and databases to frontend interfaces and infrastructure. I'm based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Heylerts started from a simple problem I kept running into: I'd launch a project, write about it, or get mentioned somewhere on the internet — and I'd find out days later, usually by accident. Google Alerts was unreliable. The dedicated brand monitoring tools were either expensive (Brand24 starts at $149/month) or complicated. I wanted something that was simple, affordable, and actually caught the mentions that mattered.

So I built Heylerts. It searches six sources — Brave Search, Reddit, Hacker News, Google News, NewsAPI, and Google via SerpAPI — every few hours depending on your plan. Mentions are deduplicated, enriched with PageRank scores so you can see how authoritative each source is, and delivered as daily or weekly email digests. The free tier gives you two alerts with 15 mentions per day, which is enough for most solo founders and creators to get started.

Before Heylerts, I built Chunks Microlearning, a mobile app that turns complex topics into bite-sized, story-driven lessons. Building Chunks taught me firsthand how important it is to know when and where people are talking about your product — especially in the early days when every mention is a signal about what's working and what isn't.

Heylerts is a one-person operation. I design, build, and maintain everything — the backend (FastAPI + PostgreSQL), the frontend (Next.js + React), the infrastructure (Hetzner VPS + Cloudflare), and the customer support ([email protected]). I believe the best tools are built by people who use them daily, and I use Heylerts to monitor both Heylerts and Chunks every single day.
